Who We Are

Happy Hounds Pet Supply is a dog and cat supply store nestled into the mountains of the beautiful lakeside town of Bigfork, Montana. Bigfork is a pet friendly town with several hiking trails for you and your pet to enjoy.

Owners Steve and Julie designed the store with the love and care of dogs (and a few cool cats) at its center. We are dedicated to providing friendly guidance on pet foods and innovative, high quality pet products in a fun, clean, enjoyable atmosphere. Between us we have decades of combined experience in pet supplies and general pet nutrition. 

"Let Food Be Thy Medicine"

We started our journey in 2012 after the first love in our life, a big handsome chocolate lab named Java, died from a combination of diseases that we now understand could have been delayed, if not prevented, with proper nutrition. A deep dive into what pets SHOULD eat, versus the conveniences to which we often resort, gave us a strong desire to spread the word on what we knew to be true. In 2014, we decided it was time to open our first pet supply store to share what we learned. Since Julie was already a fanatic about pet toys and treats, this venture only ignited her passion further. 

In 2018, we made the bold decision to move to Montana. Eager for more contact with furry faces and their guardians, we decided Bigfork, Montana needed a store that locals could call their own. Montanans care for their pets like human children....as it should be...so we reflect that in our store.

What We Offer

In order to provide the best possible customer experience, Happy Hounds Pet Supply offers high quality natural and organic pet foods & treats, fresh and nutritious homemade snacks, the latest pet accessories on the market, and most importantly, insight and homeopathic resources for common pet ailments. While we want all pet parents to be as knowledgeable as possible about nutrition, we allow each person to make their own decision as to how much and when information is needed or desired.

Everything we sell in store is also online. That way you can check quantities before hitting the road. Too busy?  You can order your products online and choose to pick up in the store.
