You may return most new, unopened items, except items listed below under specific categories, within thirty (30) days of receipt for a refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item still in its packaging, etc.). Due to the nature of pet products, we generally cannot accept returns that have been opened and used by you or your pet.

Should you have a concern about the durability of a certain item, do not contact us. Instead, please contact the manufacturer of the item.

SPECIFIC CATEGORIES

1. CLEARANCE/SEASONAL ITEMS:

We do not accept returns for refund, store credit or exchanges for clearance,  sales, and/or seasonal/holiday items.

2. NON TREAT or SUPPLEMENT FOOD ITEMS:

We will accept returns of food for a full refund, store credit or exchange excluding food items that are considered a supplement or treat within fifteen (15) days only under the following circumstances:

  • The bag you purchased contains at least 1/2 of the food left.
  • The food is in its original packaging with the barcode still intact.
  • You have your receipt with the date of purchase or it can be found through your account order history.
  • You bring the food into the physical store. We do not accept returns of any food or bagged and/or bulk treats shipped to our store due to the compromised nature of exposed food items.

3. PET APPAREL:

Due to the wear and tear and/or conditions beyond store owner control, all pet apparel returns must be initiated within a 48 hour period after receipt. Any returns outside this window will not be accepted. You will have seven days after you contact us to return the item with all packaging and labels intact and item in its original condition. AFTER THE SEVEN DAY WINDOW, returns will not be accepted.

4. FOOTWEAR:

Due to the wear and tear and/or conditions beyond store owner control, footwear is not returnable. Footwear includes socks, pawks, shoes, and booties or any other item designed to be worn on the pet's foot.

ONLINE RETURNS SUPPLEMENTAL INFO

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in most cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the maximum transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the maximum time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the maximum time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days). If your return is not a result of a product defect or our error, you will receive a refund minus a 3% restocking fee for credit card processing that is associated with your order.  Happy Hounds does not receive your processing fee back from the processor when you return a product. 

If you need to return an item, please Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order. Once you initiate a return, you will have seven days to mail the item back to us for a refund. 

We do not accept returns of any food or bagged and/or bulk treats shipped back to our store due to the compromised nature of exposed food items. Guidelines under the other Special Categories above also apply to online orders. 

CUSTOMER CANCELATIONS

All order cancelations are subject to a 2.8% credit card processing fee on the total order amount (we do not receive fees associated with credit cards back from the credit card processor). This includes erroneously choosing local pickup and then canceling your order.
